Dear Linda and Lisa,
As you know Elly and Randy were active members of the SLSC for many years with Elly serving as our first women Commodore. I was particularly grateful for their joint service as social chair in 1994. They researched the potential locations and handled each event with love and hospitality. The SLSC could not be what it is today without all their dedication and work in the past.

Dear Linda, Lisa and family,
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and all of your family. We loved Ellie and have enjoyed so many years of her wit, her wonderful nature and her strong support of education for all.
Our son, Derek, had Elly as a teacher for third grade the last year of her teaching before she retired from Southgate School. Derek is now 33! All of our boys, Derek, Killian and especially Schuyler, have loved being with your kids during the summers at the Rice Paddy. Lots of pool time! We remember the many wonderful, educational and exciting trips Elly and Randy planned for everyone!! They always made us feel so welcome.
I especially appreciated Elly and Randy's longstanding support of Wildwood Programs. As a fellow teacher, that meant the world to me. We often spoke of education and she shared her great insights on teaching. They led by example of giving from the heart.
We will miss Elly terribly and keep her inspiration alive in our hearts. She was a great woman and influenced so many.
In sympathy,
Kim and Melinda Burns

With a heavy heart I sign this Guest Book for Elly. For several years my mother & I helped Elly & Randy with many events at The Rice Patty. They always made us feel like we were more like guests and friends rather than employees. I cherish many wonderful memories and conversations that we shared. My deepest condolences and sympathy go out to family & friends. May you find peace in all of the memories you may have.

Dear Lisa and Linda, We are so surprised and saddened to learn of your mother's passing. She was a truly genuine person who always treated everyone with love and respect. She and Randy were good friends of my in-laws, Carroll and Tom Martin, when they socialized quite a bit together with the gang from First Presbyterian Church. Your mom had a lovely summer picnic at the Rice Paddy for us when we were in NY a few years ago so that we could all remember Tom. I will never forget her kindness in planning that gathering for us.

Dear Linda and Lisa:
I send my condolences about Elly's death. My husband, Bob and I went to dinner with Elly and Randy many times over the years and Bob served on the Property Committee at church with Elly.

Mrs. Rice was my 4th grade teacher some 42 years ago. I remember our field trip to the Rice Paddy. Fond memories of her and her commitment to all her students. Thank you for making a difference.
