Elijah was my student here at HVCC. I am very sorry to learn of his passing. He was a terrific student and I will always remember the great questions and comments he made in class. He had a true passion for politics and many of his fellow students and teachers enjoyed having him in class. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Sorry for the loss my prayers go out to the family

Dear Sharma family,
We just heard the sad news and my heart goes out to you all. When I met your son my daughter Courtney was in 9th grade. My home was filled with daily stories of our children and their club Friends of Animals. My daughter was quite fond of Eli and as soon as I was privileged to meet him myself, I was convinced that he was a mover and a shaker in this world and an absolute pleasure to be around. He did so many amazing things for our community and spoke his thoughts publicly. Watching him do that at such a tender age was refreshing. He got my votes when he ran for local government! I am truly sorry for your profound loss and I will never forget Eli. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Warm regards,
Deena Restifo

It is painful to have to say goodbye to such a wonderful young person. Eli has not only been a trustworthy, caring friend to our daughter Hannah for so many years, but also to our entire family. Even Hannah's grandparents would always ask her about him. We will always remember things like the time Eli was in high school and brought all of us X-mas gifts or when he sent a text-video to all of our phones of his newborn sister whom he adored. He was an absolute jewel with a spark of energy in him that we always loved having in our home. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Angel, Anita and Grace. We will never forget your beautiful boy.

My heart aches for you. Such an unspeakable loss. While we are in our grief it can sometimes be difficult to put our faith into action but knowing The Lord and trusting Him makes this time at least a little more bearable. May God hold you all in His arms and bring you comfort and peace.

We have watched Eli grow up before our eyes and become a fine young man and friend to all in our family. Our house was always brighter and full of energy when he was here. It was clearly evident that he was a person who followed his heart and the principles he believed in. These convictions clearly had an influence on Corrina, our daughter, who loved Eli like a brother. They were soulmates, and we enjoyed watching their friendship develop over the past 10 years or so. We will miss him dearly, and we share in the grief of those many people he touched. You are in our prayers, Angel & Anita.

I remember so clearly the bright-eyed enthusiastic boy who showed us (literally) what happens to marsmallow peeps when you put them in the microwave. We laughed pretty hard that day. As he got older, he was so committed in his beliefs, tireless in his fights for justice, passionate about whatever cause he was supporting. In the back of my mind, I kept an eye on that boy...I knew he would make it big. And he did. God needed him more than we did. The love and support of many are with you now, Anita. Love, Ellen

I never knew Elijah very well on a personal level, but I would see him in the hallways. He had a power about him, a thrum of energy that followed in his wake. Hearing him talk about the world and the changes he hoped to see in it always caught my attention, if not only for the points that he made, but the passion that he put into it.
A powerful voice in the world has been silenced.
