Elizabeth Brown Obituary

Brown, Elizabeth "Betty" A. CLIFTON PARK Elizabeth "Betty" A. Brown, 69, of Cambridge Drive, died on Sunday, October 21, 2018, peacefully at her residence. She was born on August 26, 1949, in Astoria, Queens and was the daughter of the late Eugene and Kathryn Cooney DeVeau. Betty was a graduate of William Cullen Bryant High School. She was the wife of the late Richard Brown who died on March 23, 2005. She had been a cook and manager for the Shenendehowa Central School district for over 24 years. Betty enjoyed being a house wife and homemaker. Betty was a generous person, never wanting others to go without. She loved telling jokes, even if the punch lines didn't come out quite right! Dinner time was always a special time in her house. Betty always made "enough food to feed an army" and you would often find friends stopping by to enjoy a meal and the company. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday, as it brought the entire family home. Betty enjoyed playing cards with friends, watching her grandchildren play, playing online games, and watching Forensic Files at night. She was the devoted mother of Scott (Tracy) Brown of Owego, N.Y., Stacy (David) Markell of East Merideth, N.Y. and Melissa (Christopher) Marlow of Clifton Park; sister of Jackie (Carol) DeVeau of New Jersey, Noreen (Jack) Clancy of Astoria, Queens and the late Eugene DeVeau, Ernest DeVeau and Kathleen DeVeau; cherished grandmother of Justin, Alexander, Olivia, Lucas, Nathan, Kathryn and Kyle; sister-in-law of Jeri DeVeau and Patty Jennings; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church in Crescent where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park. Entombment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to JDF, 950 New Loudon Road, #330 Latham, NY, 12110, American Lung Association, 155 Washington Ave., Suite 210, Albany, NY, 12210 or the American Heart Association, P.O.
