Ellen Ervin Obituary

Ervin, Ellen C. WESTERLO Ellen C. (Murphy) Ervin, 52, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Frances (Bates) Murphy. Mrs. Ervin attended St. James School, Cardinal McCloskey and Albany High School. She earned an associate's degree in computer science from Bryant and Stratton Technical Institute in Albany. She was a help desk specialist with SUNY Albany for the last seven years. Mrs. Ervin was a member of the Albany Kennel Club and she bred and showed Golden Retrievers throughout the country. She is survived by her husband, David J. Ervin; daughter, Amanda Ervin of Brooklyn, and sons, Michael and Matthew Ervin, both of Albany; her sister, Judy Murphy Donovan of Saratoga; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Sandy Albert Murphy and her sister, Susan Murphy. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. thence to St. James Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to GRROWLS-NY, Inc., PO Box 6634, Syracuse, NY 13217.
