My heartfelt condolences to Dorman and family. I had the great good fortune to meet Estelle through our good friend, Florence Beres, and know that my life was greatly enriched by knowing them both. How very much we all enjoyed "ladies day" at SPAC ballet every year. She will be very much missed by all who knew and met her. My sympathy goes out to all her family.

I am forever grateful to have come to know the heart and soul of Estelle through her remarkable family's love of and devotion to her at the Hospice Inn and through her family's and friends' special tributes at her memorial service. Estelle's life as a Mother, Grandmother, educator, and leader for social justice is truly inspirational. My life has been deeply enriched by learning about the essence of her committed love and devotion in every aspect of her life. The stories shared today about her mothering and nurturing has inspired and deepened my sense of what it means to be a Mother and friend. Both Dorman and Estelle opened up channels for grace in people's lives through the depth of their caring which has been a true blessing in all the lives you both have touched. Her living legacy is assured, not only through her gifted, open, and sensitive children and grandchildren, but through all the lives she touched so deeply over the years. Your remarkable family's love and devotion will not be forgotten by all who came to know you at the Hospice Inn. Your are in our hearts and prayers, Betsy Ewalt, Chaplain

Estelle Avery was a great neighbor to my parents. She had a warmth and a great sence of humor. I remeber hanging out at her house with her son Kevin and her daughter Karen. I will always look back fondly on those days and her hospitality to both me and my brother Steve when we came over. Don Levy

Dear Dorman and family,

Estelle was truly a gift from God. Those of us who were touched by her warmth, kindness, generosity, and energy will be forever changed. Estelle was a good friend to me during my time at the Imagination Celebration. Her support of the program and its founder, Vivienne Anderson was truly a lesson to me in compassion. Dorman, Estelle rests peacefully today and forever in the arms of the Lord. Her spirit lives on through all those she touched.

With sincerest sympathy,

To the Avery family:

Estelle was quite a woman: intelligent, wise, caring and courageous; a woman who marched to the beat of her own drum. She left her mark on everyone she touched. Her former colleagues in PSA will miss her dearly.

Rest in peace, Estelle.

To the Avery family,

Thank God for English teachers like Estelle Avery! She was my teacher at Albany High in 1966-67. You never entered her classroom with trepidation and it was a pleasure learning from her.

I believe God has a special place for teachers ~ especially those so admired. May she rest in peace, and my sincerest condolences to your family.

Fondly, Karen
