BALLSTON SPA - Ethel Carrie "Ebie" Brown (née Barss), 72, passed away on October 26, 2024, in Ballston Spa, N.Y. Born on December 4, 1951, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Ebie was a beacon of love and creativity throughout her life.
Ebie was a kind, compassionate individual known for her warmth and generosity, especially as a mother and grandmother. She wore her heart on her sleeve and channeled her boundless creativity into various endeavors. Ebie's talents included writing, soft-sculpture, and designing nature study programs. Ebie always added a personal touch to her projects, as she had a driving passion for her life's work.
Ebie is survived by her daughters, Adrienne Long and Kiera Brown; her grandson, Konner Wilsey; and her siblings, David Norton, Patrick Barss, Sandy Barss, and Frederick Barss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Edna Barss; and her brother, Gary Barss.
A celebration of Ebie's life will be held in the late spring, with details to be posted on her Facebook page. Interested parties can also reach out to Adrienne Long or David Norton for information.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations be made to Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa, N.Y., where Ebie received unmatched 24/7 compassionate care throughout her final days. Contributions will honor her memory and support the continued care provided by the Gateway staff.
