Evan Richards Obituary

Richards, Evan L. ALBANY Evan Leighton Richards, 86, died on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Born in Schenectady, he was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and Union College, and was an Army veteran. Evan was a reporter, feature writer and columnist for The Knickerbocker News and a legislative correspondent. He later was employed by several New York State agencies, and retired from the Public Service Commission. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Singleton Richards; daughter and son-in-law, Polly and Patrick Grande; and granddaughter, Claire Grande. Services will be private with burial in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Northeast NY, 3 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205. Nancy & Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss of Evan. He was one of my classmates at NTHS and I remember him as being very involved in school activities. I was pleased to see him at class reunions in later years.
