Florence Ladouceur Obituary

Ladouceur, Florence J. ALBANY Florence J. Ladouceur, 85, entered Eternal Life Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Hospice Inn, at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Raymond F. Joyce Sr., and Edna Crist Joyce. Florence was a graduate of St. John's Academy. Florence retired from the New York State Legislative Bill Drafting Commission as a computer operator. She also had worked at St. Peter's Hospital as an admitting clerk. She was the wife of the late Philip J. Ladouceur Sr.; beloved mother of Philip Ladouceur (Mary), Gerald Ladouceur (Mary Ellen), Mary Pat Hollner (Ken), Judith Fioravanti (Eric), Renee Engel, Raymond Ladouceur (Lisa); and the late Michael Ladouceur; sister of Veronica Kavanaugh (Ernie), Michaela Joyce, and the late Raymond Joyce (Joan), John Joyce, Mary Joyce, Edna Joyce (Don), Philip Joyce (Mary), William Joyce (Kathleen), Robert Joyce, Harold Joyce (Peg), and Frances Joyce; survived by 21 grandchildren; and the late Patrick Engel; four great-grandchildren, and generations of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Florence's family Tuesday, December 5, 2017, 4 to 7 p.m. at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Funeral services Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 10 a.m. at McVeigh Funeral Home, Albany, thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany, at 10:30 a.m. where her funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands immediately following the Mass. Those wishing to remember Florence in a special way may send a contribution to either Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12206 or the Sister Maureen Joyce Center, 369 Livingston Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12206. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I met her at my Dad's wake (Richard Crist) last July. She even drove Father St. John to the funeral so he could say mass. The Joyce family has always been very dear to my whole family. I am thinking and praying for you.
