Frances C. Pallozzi

Pallozzi, Frances C. WATERFORD Frances C. Pallozzi, 81 of 6th Street, died suddenly Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Born in Waterford she was a lifelong Waterford resident and was the daughter of the late Francis and Catherine Berdar Currier. She was a 1948 graduate of Waterford High School and was class valedictor-ian. A certified credentialist, Fran was employed for five years at St. Peter's Hospital retiring in 1999. Prior to that, she was employed at St. Mary's Hospital for 15 years and in her earlier years she was employed at New York Telephone Co. and had taught nursery school at the Presbyterian Church in Lansingburgh. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford and a 50 year member of the church choir. An avid volunteer, Fran was active in the Meals On Wheels Program in Waterford, Community Hospice of Saratoga and the Waterford Museum and Cultural Center where she served as docent. She was a former member of the Capitol Hill Choral Society. Fran was a member of the Burnt Hills Oratorio Society, the New York Catholic Chorale Group at Siena College, Volkssporters Walking Group and the Monday Night Swingers at Mill Road Golf Course where she had served as treasurer for many years. Fran loved biking, walking, cross-country skiing, Curves and zumba. She and her husband were supporters of the Capital Repertory Theater since its inception and also were strong supporters of WAMC and WMHT. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Orlando J. Pallozzi; her children, Donald F. Pallozzi (Kathy Varone) of Fairport, Deborah J. Pallozzi (Julie Lenhart) of Ithaca, Frances P. Wittmann (Jeffrey) of Delmar, Catherine M. Pallozzi (Bonnie Brautigam) of Delmar and Teresa A. Pallozzi (Richard Muller) of Albuquerque, N.M.; and her grandchildren, who she adored, Anna Pallozzi, Jonathan G. and Collin F. Wittmann and Alexander Muller. Also surviving is her brother and sister-in-law, Guido and Bernice Pallozzi of Malta; her dear friend, Joan Wittmann of Lansingburgh, many nieces and nephews as well as beloved family pets Riley and Scout. She was predeceased by her sister, Edna G. Wilson. Fran inspired all of those close to her with her enthusiasm for living life to its fullest and with her deep faith in God. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford and at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to St. Mary of the Assumption Church Restoration Fund, the Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center or the Burnt Hills Oratorio Society in care of the funeral home office.
