Caruso, Francis D.
MECHANICVILLE - Francis "Frank" Caruso passed away on the evening of October 26, 2025, at his home, peacefully asleep, surrounded by his loving son, Luke and his fiancé, Honesty.
Frank was born on June 29, 1944, in Troy, N.Y., the son of Ernest F. and Theresa (Iavarone) Caruso.
Frank attended Mechanicville High School until February 1963, when he chose to enlist in the United States Navy. He served until 1967 when he was Honorably Discharged.
After serving his time in the Navy, Frank began working for the D&H Railroad. However, Frank was a salesman at heart, someone with a natural ability to connect with and comfort everyone he met. Following his passion for working with people, he transitioned into sales, building a career that spanned automobiles, pest control services, and home improvements. He spent several years in the used car business throughout the 1980s and 1990s, where his outgoing and friendly demeanor made him a natural in the trade. Later in life, Frank enjoyed traveling the countryside while transporting school buses for Leonard Bus Sales, where he retired in 2023, after 15 years of dedicated service.
Frank was a simple man who enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life. He loved attending the Hulin Street picnics with his family in the neighborhood he was raised, and especially enjoyed taking his younger brother on mischievous adventures throughout the city of Mechanicville. Frank was always fascinated by spaghetti westerns, ranching, and the cowboy way of life, a passion that began in his childhood. When he was old enough, he fulfilled that dream and bought a farm where he raised his family and livestock, including pigs. In addition to caring for his animals, Frank had a deep love for horses, and owned several that also lived on the farm.
Remaining to cherish Franks memory are his son Luke; and fiancé, Honesty; his former wife, Sophie; his daughter, Renee; his stepson, Jerri; and his beloved grandson, Silas. He is also survived by his brother Salvadore (Cathy) Caruso; sister, Marlene Stipano; nephews, Salvadore Caruso and Matthew Stipano; niece, Maria Stipano; as well as several first and second cousins and countless friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Richard Stipano; and niece, Danielle Momrow.
