Francis De Francesco

De Francesco, Francis COXSACKIE Francis De Francesco passed away on December 28, 2020, at the age of 83. Francis was born in Albany and was a long-time resident of Coxsackie. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy, Siena College, The College of Saint Rose, and the State University at Albany, earning master's degrees in education and criminal justice. Francis had a distinguished career with the New York State Police for over 35 years. He served in Troops C, D, E, F, G, H, and K, holding the ranks of trooper, sergeant, technical sergeant, investigator, uniform lieutenant, BCI lieutenant, BCI captain, major, inspector, deputy chief inspector, assistant deputy superintendent-administration, chief inspector and deputy superintendent. He last served as chief inspector of the New York State Inspector General's Office. Francis received numerous awards and commendations during his tenure. Francis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie (Dolan); children, Mark De Francesco and his wife Kate (Planco), Mary Kathryn Salvino, and Alison De Francesco. He was the proud grandfather of Christopher, Nicholas, Emily, and Genevieve De Francesco and Sheena, Albert John, Francesca, Rocco and Ellie Salvino; as well as three great-grandchildren, Marlena, Colin, and William. He is also survived by his brothers, Anthony and Angelo De Francesco, and was predeceased by his brother Peter De Francesco. He had many nieces and nephews who he loved and was proud of. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at W.C. Brady's Sons, Inc., 97 Mansion St., Coxsackie on Friday, January 1, from 4 - 7 p.m. A private funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 2, in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Coxsackie. Immediately following the funeral Mass all are invited to attend the interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Coxsackie, at approximately 11:30 a.m. The wearing of masks, social distancing guidelines and capacity limitations will be in place at all times.
