G. Henningson Obituary

Henningson, G. William MECHANICVILLE G. William Henningson, 71, of Park Avenue, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospice, Albany, after a brief illness. Born in Troy, September 16, 1936, son of the late George and Sally Downing Henningson, Bill lived in his present home, all his life. He was a 1955 graduate of Mechanicville High School, and had attended Brockport State. Bill was a union carpenter out of the Albany local, for most of his life, retiring due to disability in 1995. Over his career, he helped construct a number of major projects, such as Knowles Atom Power Labs in Niskayuna, several area hospitals and I.B.M. An avid sportsman, Bill loved to hunt, fish and go camping, with friends and family. A certified expert scuba diver, Bill was a member of the Saratoga County Sheriffs Under Water Search Team, and the Waterford Diving Team, for a number of years. In addition to his parents, Bill was sadly predeceased by his son, Brian E. Henningson, who died in 1993. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Patricia Piccirilli Henningson; his son, William "Rocky" and wife Diane Henningson of Saratoga Lake; his daughter Susan and husband Bill Schouten of Castleton on Hudson; his five beloved grandchildren, Alisa and Roxanne Henningson, Joseph, William and Steven Schouten. Also his in-laws, Arthur (Marianne) Piccirilli, Louise (Ray) McCarty, Gloria (John) Niland, and Bud (Mary LeClaire) Johnson; along with several nieces and nephews. A memorial funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 13 at 4 p.m. at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either St. Peter's Hospice or the John Ahearn Rescue Squad in tribute to G. William Henningson.

Pat, Rocky and Sue , I am so deeply sorrowed by your loss . He was a great man andd I will truely miss him . We enjoyed alot of years together and Had lots of good times . Again I am truely sorrowed. I will miss him at camp as will all that had the pleasue to hunt,fish,camp , or just be with him.

Pat, Rocky & Sue; My heart is sadden along with yours but let us remember all the fun times along the way. I sure will miss him over here during hunting season. And to quote a familiar phrase "Bill, thanks for the memories!"
