Gary P. Jeffries Sr.

Jeffries, Gary P. Sr. WATERVLIET Gary P. Jeffries Sr., 76, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. He was the son of the late Clarence Jeffries and Beulah (VanderVeer) Jeffries. He was a loving husband to Marian (Aumand) Jeffries, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage. Born in Rensselaer on June 29, 1945, Gary attended Rensselaer High School and enlisted in the Navy where he was honorably discharged. He was the owner of Northeastern Fine Quality Builders. Gary took pride in helping his son and all his nephews to learn the building trade and the meaning of hard work every day. He loved coaching his son's team when he was young. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Krystle (Andrew) Planz and Gary Jeffries (April Schepisi); his cherished and much-loved grandchildren, Andrew, Alana and Layla Planz, Veronica and Braxton Jeffries, who were the absolute loves of his life and who called him Papa; his sisters, Barbara (Charlie Stock) and Donna Mae Durand; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Jack Hartkern, Grace Kivelin (Dennis Millspaugh), Mary Gail and Edward Cummins, Jerry and Andrea Aumand and Maureen Aumand; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his sister, Joan; brothers, Clarence, Donald and Lester; his brothers-in-law, Thomas Durand and Raymond Aumand; sisters-in-law, Jean and Elsie; and his nephew, Chuckie Stock. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet on Monday, November 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. following the calling hours in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville.
