Donna and family: I was scared of Ginger when I worked for her in my younger days. But later I found her bark was worse than her bite. She will be missed but she will be at peace.

Donna and family: I was so sad to hear the news from a long time mutual friend and co-worker. Ginger was such a smart, decent, hardworking, strong and classy person. It was a pleasure to know her, work with her and learn from her. My thoughts are with all of you.

I will always remember Ginger for her fierce and passionate dedication to the members, pensioners and staff of the New York State and Local Retirement System. She embodied the concept of stewardship of the System's resources, and was fair and honest in her dealings with members, staff and supervisors. She was an acknowledged and unparalleled expert in the Retirement Law and had a rich historical view of the System. With her many accomplishments, was a great example for the working women in the Retirement System and the Office of the State Comptroller. You should be proud of what she accomplished. We're all saddened by your loss.

To Donna and her sister, I hope that your mother is at peace now looking down on you and your family as she sits there with your father. Who knows maybe her and Tracy are having a glass of wine together. You have been there for me over the past 5 months and I plan on doing what ever I can do to make it an easier grieving period for you.
