George Podmajersky

Podmajersky, George FULTONVILLE George Podmajersky, 90, of Fultonville passed away on December 8, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. He was born in Little Falls, to the late Paul and Katarina Podmajersky on December 31, 1922. George was a 1940 graduate of Fultonville High School, a 1947 graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. George joined the U.S. Air Force in 1942, earned the rank of first lieutenant and served with the 444th Bomb Squadron during World War II, the European Theatre until 1945. After serving his country he worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance until his retirement in 1978. George is survived by his sister, Olga Podmajersky; brother, John Podmajersky and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by not only his parents, but also his brothers, Paul Podmajersky, and Edward Podmajersky, who were killed in active duty during the Korean War and sisters, Anna Holdorf, Elizabeth Radic, and Mildred Podmajersky. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel at Jackson and Betz Funeral Home with the Rev. Nancy Pullen to officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to a calling period from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Maple Avenue Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Contributions may be made in George's memory to the Fultonville Reformed Church, P.O.
