Georgiana Bailey Obituary
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - On February 15, 2024, Georgiana (Ginger) Bailey passed away. Born in Troy, N.Y., on January 24, 1947.
A resident of Colonie for many years before moving to Myrtle Beach, S.C., in 2012. She retired from the State University of New York, Albany, where she was honored with the Albany President and Chancellor of SUNY Award for Excellence in Professional Service. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel R. Bailey; her parents, Mildred and Joseph Cietek; and her brother, Joseph G. Cietek.
She is survived by Danny's brother, Alan, and his two daughters; his sister, Chris, and her two children; and his sister, Corinne. She is also survived by her brother's four children: Phyllis, Scott, Mark and Kristin. Last, but certainly not least, she is survived by many very good friends. In her remembrance, a donation to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

I shall always remember Ginger for the truly excellent employee she was at UAlbany.
She drove our biggest system´s development project in the ` 80. A huge and complicated project, she barreled through it like no one else.
And I shall never forget her dedication, her professionalism, but above her her energy and spirit. Her sweet laugh still rings in my ears.
