Glenn Becker Obituary

Becker, Glenn A. "Benny" KNOX Glenn "Benny" A. Becker, 61, of Knox, entered eternal life on September 9, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital with his loving wife and special friend at his side. Glenn was born in Albany, son of the late Harold and Virginia (Kimball) Becker of Guilder-land. Glenn owned and operated Glenn Becker Auto Repair in Albany for many years. He was mechanically inclined from an early age and was a jack of all trades. Among his favorite things in life were his camps in Wells and Brant Lake, N.Y., his winters in Boynton Beach, Fla., boating, camping with all his buddies, bowling, golfing, enjoying sunrises and sunsets. Glenn loved his family and had a wonderful host of friends. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, and being kind and helpful. He was always eager to lend a hand. In addition to his parents Glenn was predeceased by his son, Glenn A. Becker II and his brother, Bruce Becker. Glenn is survived by his wife and best friend, Dawn (Pokeda) Becker. He is the father of his cherished daughter, Amy (Sandy) Drumluk, Freeville, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Brittany Becker, Marion, S.C., Siena Drumluk, Freeville; his brother, Gary (Ellen) Becker, Greenville, S.C. He is also survived by a nephew, aunts, and numerous cousins. Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, N.Y. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Glenn's memory to the Altamont Rescue Squad Inc., 767 Rt. 146, Altamont, NY 12009. Amy and Family,
It Breaks my heart knowing what your family is going through It is never easy to lose your dad. The few times I saw him he was always very kind to us and always made us laugh. Leave it to those Becker MEN to put a smile on our faces. At hard times like this I guess we should all feel peace knowing that he's no longer in any pain and he will be able to see his son Glenn again. Send him our love when you get there Glenn!
