I too, had the opportunity to spend time with Guy, while we were both at the Hope Lodge in Boston. I remained just four weeks while receiving Cancer Treatment at Dana Farber. I consider my time with Guy, as a wonderful blessing in my life!

I can't begin to thank everyone enough for all their thoughtful comments regarding Guy. Of course, he was a perfect son to me; but then, I am probably partial, being his mom. Seriously, he was always a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, sibling , Uncle, cousin, friend, etc, etc, etc. He had a heart of Gold; always cheerful, despite his disability, and always trying to help others. He will be missed; but NEVER FORGOTTEN.

Guy was a classmate and a friend. He and I saw things very much the same and I always enjoyed our conversations. Guy was an old soul and a peaceful man. He will be greatly missed. Prayers and loving peace to his family.

Our deepest sympathies to your family. My wife and I (and Junior, our dog) met Guy at the Hope Lodge. He was very kind, gentle, and cheerful man. He helped my wife while she was going through the same treatment as he was. He will always be remembered as an extremely positive individual who always brought a smile to us all. He is sorely missed and we'll always remember is kind words of "...Hello my little friend (always greet our dog)!!!" and loved cookes!!!!...

Dad,
You truly taught me how to be a strong, kind person. I always saw you as my hero; someone who was always fine, and never complained. Just to know how much you loved me made me whole. A piece of me is missing but I hope I continue to make you proud and that your values live on in me, and in Connor and Brennan. You were the best dad any girl could ask for, and the best Papa to my boys. My fondest memories of childhood include you. I love you more than words can convey, and my heart hurts without you. I hope you're at peace, and please watch over us.

To Guy's wife and family, my sincere sympathy for your loss of this fine man. Guy was a good friend to my husband, Tom Lewis, who passed away two years ago so I have a deep understanding when a beloved leaves us quickly and too soon. They were associated through Forbes and other similar interests and we were always happy to see him. Tom deeply respected Guy and valued their friendship.
Praying for God's peace and comfort.

I miss you terribly and having coffee together and talking . Life won't be the same without you. But I was blessed to have you in my life. You will live in forever. Love you Guy ❤❤

So sorry to learn about Guy, he was a great friend. We were brothers in hearing loss and he worked as a volunteer to help others hear through Cochlear implants. We worked many meetings together, shared lunches, dinners and our favorite, breakfasts at Alexis Dinner. I will miss you my friend

I am so sorry to hear of Guy's passing. I never met him in person but we were cochlear implant cyber friends. He was always so helpful.
One time he was too helpful. Several of us were looking for neck loops and Guy suggested on on Amazon. Several of us ordered it and it was a piece of junk. To add insult to injury, our credit cards were compromised. We never let him forget it.
Prays to his family--I am so sorry he was a great "Guy."

Dear Gamello Family,
You dont know me but I have known Guy for many years. My name is Jeffrey Chow and I am a High Power Rifle shooter. I live in Connecticut and only see Guy a few times every year when I travel to the Long Range and Across the Course Forbes matches in upstate New York.
Though we meet only at tournaments, Guy is someone I always look forward to seeing. The first time we met he was running the High Power Across the Course match at Forbes. Hot and humid, I hadnt enough water and by the 600 yard prone match my arm literally seized from dehydration. As a result, I could only pull targets with one arm. His target next to mine, he helped pull both.
Every season, I saw his transformation as he went through treatments. When he was a no-show Id write him an email just to let him know the conditions he missed. He never complained and always wanted to be on the firing line. And when he was, he didnt speak of his illness but of his latest rifle setup like his new scope offset rings that accommodated his latest handicap.
He is, and will always be the gentleman shooter who taught us the importance of sportsmanship and perseverance. A true High Master in the sport.
In our last match, a 1000 yard long range match, I overheard his scorer shout X over and over. Despite his handicaps it was one of his better scores. I still recall his last, X, 20-On.
Im sure you know that Guy reached many people at these matches but I wanted to write you to let you know how far that reach was.
Please accept my warmest condolences and please know that I will miss Guy.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Chow
