Heinz Marpe Obituary

Marpe, Heinz O. MELROSE Heinz O. Marpe, formerly of Route 40 in Melrose and a longtime resident of the Hoosick Falls Health Center, passed away on August 16, 2010. He was 87. Born on September 14, 1922 in Buskirk, N.Y. to the late Richard and Malwina Schroeder Marpe. Husband of the late Eleanor Rowland Marpe who passed away in 2008. Heinz was a dairy farmer with his brothers and father in Johnsonville and later retired from a career at Albany International. A member and former trustee for the Melrose Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Grange and a leader for the Boy Scouts of America. Heinz was an active volunteer in the church and surrounding communities. Survivors include his sons, Donald (Janet) Marpe of Troy and Edward Marpe of Melrose; grandchildren, Jessica, Kristopher and Kyle Marpe, all of Blackwood, N.J.; three sisters, Ilse Siebels of Troy, Edith Krupansky of Melrose and Lucy Reeves of Poway, Calif. In addition to his parents and wife, Heinz was predeceased by his son, Eric and brothers, Walter and Paul Marpe. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from the Chase Funeral Home, 173 Main Street in Schaghticoke. Relatives and friends may call prior to the service from 9 - 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Melrose Methodist Church Bell Choir Fund, 20 Church St., Melrose, NY 12121 or the Hoosick Falls Health Center, 21 Danforth Street, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090 in his memory.
