To the Sohnen family,
My husband and I were so saddened to hear of Howard's passing. He delivered our first daughter and our twin boys. I started as a patient before I was married on Hackett Blvd and if he moved, I happily followed! He was such a great physician and looked at his patients as a whole person and took the time to listen. I have never found anyone that I could be more comfortable with as a patient. We were truly blessed that he was the first person to hold our children as they entered the world. May he Rest In Peace.

Dear Annamarie, Rachel, and Michael, I am so sorry to hear this. I truly enjoyed working with Howard. His diagnosis was a blow to me and to his patients. The clinic was never the same again. He loved you all with all his being and talked about you all the time. He will be missed.

So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Sohnen at Albany Med and at Seton, as an OB nurse and then Nurse Practitioner with Seton OB/GYN. He was a caring person who cherished his family. Sad to learn of his passing.

Dear Annie,Rachel, and Michael -- Talk about a shock to the system! We can't tell you how sorry and sad we are to learn of Howie's passing. He was a wonderful doctor who delivered our Kaet and we always spent more time than usual talking with him during a visit about lots of things not relating to medicine (unless he and Larry got on the subject). I always recommended him to friends looking for an OBGYN -- When they chose Howie as their doc they raved about him!
While we haven't seen you all in years, Howie and you and the kids are always in our thoughts. I will miss his sense of humor and intelligent wit. May he rest in peace and that you find comfort in the wonderful years you had with him as husband and father, and to his sister, Micheline, we wish the same.
Love, condolences, Cathy, Larry, Kaet, and Richard Buckwalter

Dear Sohnen Family,
My husband and I are so sorry to hear of Dr. Sohnen's passing. We were introduced to him 27 years ago in Albany NY and had 2 wonderful experiences of deliveries with him. We think of him often and always remember his philosophy of "if you think this stage is great, wait until the next". May he rest in peace and may you find comfort in the wonderful gifts he gave to his patients and the love he had for his family that he would rave about during our visits.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Dr. Sohnen was a wonderful doctor, and friend. He helped me through some tragic events with compassion and true caring. He delivered all of my children, even coming in on his day off. A very caring doctor. He will be missed.
