Irene F. Carpinello

EAST GREENBUSH Irene F. (Freitag) Carpinello, 98, of Bruen Ct., died Friday, April 30, 2004 at Resurrection Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Germany, she moved to the Capital District and has lived here most of her life. Irene retired after 40 years as a proof reader for the New York State Department of Education in Albany. She was a communicant of St. Matthews Church, Albany. Predeceased by her parents, Carl and Augusta Zacheya Freitag; husband, Dominick J. Carpinello; sister, Marguerite Pease; brother, Eric Freitag; cousin and dear friend, Johanna Richardson. Survivors include one brother-in-law, Stephen Bazycki of Cape Cod, Mass. and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Sunday 2:00 p.m. from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer. Interment will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, Glenmont. Friends may call Sunday prior to the funeral from 12-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to St. Matthew's Church, 75 Whitehall Rd., Albany, NY 12209.
