James Eccles Obituary

Eccles, James C. III SARATOGA SPRINGS One of the funniest guys to ever grace this Earth has left us. James C. Eccles III, 70 of Saratoga Springs, died on August 8, 2022, of natural causes. Jim was the son of James Jr. and Helen Eccles. He leaves his wife, Roxanne; sons, James IV (Chelsea) and Scott (Shannon); grandchildren, James V, Penelope, and Riker; and former wife, Mary Johnson. Jim loved the Adirondacks and Saratoga Springs. He worked for the New York State Talking Book and Braille Library for 30 years. Per Jim's wishes, there will be no service. We hope to have a celebration of his life at a later date. Contributions may be made to your local food pantry.

Jim was one of my favorite supervisors (I was blessed to have a few). He was also a good friend. I will never forget Tuesday wing nights with Jim and Rox. Our beloved DK would also join. Jim truly had the best, quickest and punniest sense of humor I have ever encountered. He was so smart and witty. Sometimes very subtle and dry. Jim opened me up to so much music and comedy I can´t thank him enough. He was so generous with his vast personal library that the LBVH (TBBL - Talking Book and Braille Library) staff always had something new to listen to. He made that clerk job my favorite in the 34 years I spent at the Education Department. I don´t know why it took me so long to post here. I reached out personally but was thinking about Jim and wanted to share. I can´t explain how much he meant to me and how much I think of him. I wish his family, especially Rox and his sons good health and a happy future.
