Edwards, James J. WATERVLIET James J. "Jimbo" Edwards, 70, died Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born in Watervliet on September 6, 1950, the son of the late John and Sadie Reinhart Edwards. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Watervliet and attended Watervliet High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed by Al Tech Specialty Steel for a brief time. He later was a bus driver for CDTA from October 1990 to August 2014, when he retired. He was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1321. Currently he was employed as a courier for Partridge Dental Lab in Guilderland. Jimmy enjoyed golfing and stopping in and visiting with friends on a moment's notice. His favorite holiday was Christmas and he loved watching Hallmark Christmas movies. He was loved by his family and all his friends around Watervliet. He was the beloved husband of 37 years of Deborah G. LaFleur Edwards; devoted father of Shawn Edwards of Troy, Mandy Edwards (Sebastian Dziedzic) of Burden Lake, Samantha (Michael) O'Neil of East Greenbush and Jennifer Robinson (Sean Dwyer) of Watervliet; adored grandfather of Joel Acker, Ryan, Kristopher and Matthew McCarty, Ethan and Grant Jones, Mackenzie Otten, Cameron Herrick, Peadar and Rosie Robinson and Emmett and Molly O'Neil; and dear brother of Carol Keough, Bernice Jarvis, Betty Anne Kepner, Jacki Toma, Bruce and Carl Edwards and the late Loyd, Paul, Gary and Jerry Edwards, Barbara Lewis, Florence Sgambelluri and Beverly McConnell. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of his life gathering on Saturday, September 4, from 2-6 p.m. at the Watervliet AOH, 1021 9th Avenue, Watervliet. There are no calling hours.
