James Jakubiak Obituary

Jakubiak, James David COLONIE James David Jakubiak, 56, died Friday, July 29, 2016. Born August 10, 1959, James had lived in Colonie all of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Baum-Jakubiak; his beloved, son Joshua Jakubiak; and his loyal "guard dog", Buddy. Also survived by his sister-in-laws, Eileen Hamilton and Sue Hollebrand and brother-in-laws, Walter Hamilton and Bill Hollebrand; nieces, Leslie Hamilton and Rachel Yonkers (and family); nephew, Alan Hamilton; Mrs. Evelyn Williams who was very dear to him, just like a mom; and many, many friends. He was predeceased by mother Lucille (Metz) and father Bronistan Jakubiak; and infant brother, Wayne. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a maintenance technician for almost 30 years at the Anderson Group's CSX Railroad facility. Known as "Jungle Jim" to the local car community, he was the director of the Upstate NY Chapter of the Buick Club of America and Founder of the Capital District Car Club Association. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. Burial will be in Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to these two organizations that Jim was passionate about: Saratoga Auto Musuem, 110 Avenue of the Pines, Saratoga Springs NY 12866, or The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Rensselaer County, 544 Broadway, Rensselaer, NY 12144. reillyandson.com
