We were classmates at Brooklyn Polytech and enjoyed each others company during those hectic days. We reconnected when Jim called me from R.P.I. and asked me to write a recommendation for him for tenure. We communicated after that and always had happy and friendly remarks over phone and later, email My last email was undelivered and I realized on Google search that his illness probably had done him in. Rest in Peace old friend.

Jim was one of the most influential people in my life. He taught both me and my son at RPI.
I learned much from him both inside and outside the classroom. I will always remember his intelligence, value of hard work, and sense of humor. He was also a pretty fair handball player. Rest in peace Jim.

Jim was an awesome mentor, co-instructor, and friend while I was at RPI. I probably use something I learned from him every day. May he rest in peace. I will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed - Mark Palmer

Professor Moore was a brilliant researcher, gifted teacher and my friend. "Moore Organic Chemistry" was the emotional and intellectual introduction to a professional lifetime of rigorous class work and challenging careers. Well done Jim, you succeeded in changing the world. May you rest in peace!

Dear Lottie and family, our condolences on the passing of Jim. Many years ago when Chris was in baseball is when our families met when our Tony and Cris played baseball together. Jim was such a caring husband and father and loved by many. RIP Jim.

At the very end of 2017 the chemical community and the polymer science community lost one of its finest members. We will miss Jim's very warm personality and his great sense of humor. I always looked forward to seeing Jim at an ACS meeting or a polymer Gordon Conference and to getting one of his very funny jokes through email. I already miss him. With this note I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to Lotte and the family.

I am sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I knew Jim from the Bailey Mountain Fish & Game Club. I enjoyed talking with his and participating in Club meetings with him. Jim was always brilliant but also approachable and easy to talk to. God Rest Jim! You are missed.

I'm sorry to hear of Jim's passing. When I moved I left a lot of friends at the Castleton Fish and Game. God bless you all as you go through this hard time.
