Janet Rosen Simons

Simons, Janet Rosen CLIFTON PARK Janet Rosen Simons, age 68, of Clifton Park, N.Y. passed away on Saturday evening, August 23, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, N.Y. Jan was born in the Bronx, N.Y. on January 6, 1940 and lived in Albany for many years. She was a graduate of Albany High School and Russell Sage College. Following a blind date and a six month whirlwind romance, Jan married the love of her life, Gene Robert Simons, an RPI man, in 1961. Jan and Gene were married for 44 loving years prior to Gene's death in 2005, and were blessed with four daughters, Brooke Mahoney of Clifton Park, Karen Simons of Albany, Melissa Tucek (William) of Fishers, Ind. and Dana Gould of Clifton Park. Jan was a loving and doting "Nana" to Cody and Nathaniel Tucek, Jacob Mahoney and Lily and Harry Gould. Jan is also survived by her sisters, Wanda Mayo of Cohoes, N.Y. and Lynn DiPalma of Troy, N.Y. and her brother, David Rosen of Guilderland, N.Y. She is predeceased by her brother, Larry Rosen. Our family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of Rubin Dialysis Center in Clifton Park for taking care of Mom over the past year. Services will be held at Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. and will be followed by burial at Beth Shalom Cemetery on Schermerhorn Street in Rotterdam, N.Y. Shiva will be observed at the Simons' home at 10 Liberty Way, Clifton Park on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, our family requests that donations be made to the Rubin Dialysis Center in Clifton Park, N.Y. or The Workshop, Inc. in Menands, N.Y.
