I haven't seen Jeff in a long time but he was a good friend. His kids I used to go over and play at his house in his room. I'm shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I'm praying for comfort and strength for his family and friends. The thought of him came to my heart about a week ago. I had wished to run into him again.

My first year of teaching at a local high school was also Jeff´s first year there as a ninth grade student. As a rookie teacher, it was a very hard year. Yet all these years later, I still remember Jeff´s warm personality, his poetic flourishes in writing, and an ironic sense of humor that helped me get through some of those rough moments of a day. I like to think that maybe we helped each other. What I know more certainly is that I was lucky indeed to be Jeff´s teacher. Rest In Peace.
