Jeffrey Arensberg Obituary
Guilderland - Age 47, a lifelong resident of Guilderland, N.Y., passed suddenly on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Devoted and loving son of Richard and Shirley Arensberg, he leaves behind his sister, Darcy Stryker, and nephew, Brady Stryker; his dear aunt, Lois Etkin; many cousins and friends.
A graduate of Shaker High School, he attended Dean College and Schenectady Community College. He was working at the Albany County Department of Mental Health as an advocate. He had also worked at a variety of careers in real estate, insurance, and sales, prior to this. He was a licensed drum therapist, helping children with ADD to channel their energy.
A friend of Bill's for over 20 years, he found joy in helping others. He was a regular speaker at the Albany County Jail, helping people with addictions. He enjoyed and was knowledgeable about most genres of music, played the drums, loved wrestling, writing, reading, and Sunday dinners with his family.
All who knew him benefited from his spiritual soul, his sense of humor, and empathetic nature. He will be sorely missed.
Services at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road, Albany on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Beth Emeth Cemetery, Loudonville, New York. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Jeffrey in a special way make a memorial donation to the Park Playhouse, c/o Cohoes Music Hall, 58 Remsen Street, Cohoes, New York 12047 or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 455 Patroon Creek Blvd., Albany, New York 12206. I haven't seen Jeff in a long time but he was a good friend. His kids I used to go over and play at his house in his room. I'm shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I'm praying for comfort and strength for his family and friends. The thought of him came to my heart about a week ago. I had wished to run into him again.

I'm very sad to hear this Jeff was a Great Kind Funny Guy who I very much enjoyed watching and talking about Wrestling with before I drove he would pick me up to watch PPVs at his house and even bring me home after.I'm going to Miss talking to him about wrestling very much if anyone knows a way to contact his family I have a Video of us making it on TV From when we went to Raw Together this past Memorial Day in case they want it.I will Never forget the great time we had Together

My first year of teaching at a local high school was also Jeff´s first year there as a ninth grade student. As a rookie teacher, it was a very hard year. Yet all these years later, I still remember Jeff´s warm personality, his poetic flourishes in writing, and an ironic sense of humor that helped me get through some of those rough moments of a day. I like to think that maybe we helped each other. What I know more certainly is that I was lucky indeed to be Jeff´s teacher. Rest In Peace.
