Jeffrey Keene Obituary

Keene, Jeffrey B.
HALFMOON - It is with sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jeffrey Keene on August 26, 2023.
Jeffrey was born and raised in Troy and was a graduate of the Albany Academy and Paul Smith's College. His primary career was in purchasing and manufacturing management with companies, Boeing Corp. at Cape Canaveral's Space Center, General Electric Co., and Turbo Systems. In semi-retirement, and with his love of cars, he became part of the management team with Langan Audi East, until fully retiring due to his illness. With great dedication and commitment to his community, he served as a board member and president for many years for both Monmouth Way and Concord Court HOA's of Knox Woods.
One of Jeff's greatest passions in life was skiing, where he experienced the slopes of the U.S., Canada and Europe and eventually to the Chapel of the Snows in Stratton, Vt. where he married his wife, Julie. One of Jeff's proudest experiences of his life was working for the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid. Jeff loved sharing stories of all the athletes he met and assisted, and being a hockey player throughout high school and college, he was so honored to witness the U.S.A. Hockey team's "Miracle on Ice." Jeff's courage and strength throughout all of his serious health issues were a true inspiration to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Julie (Dinardo) Keene; his mother-in-law, Elinor Dinardo; his brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Dinardo (Rhonda) and Jerry Dinardo (Libby); his sister-in-law, Sharon Dinardo; his daughter, Hillary Keene; his son, Scott Keene (Angela); his grandchildren, Kensley, Gabriel and Nolan; his great-grandson, Jaxon; and his most loving and faithful companion, his dog, Bode, who will miss him so much. Jeff was predeceased by his parents, John and Althea Keene; and his father-in-law, John Dinardo.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial Mass at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, in St. Mary's Crescent Church, 86 Church Hill Road, Waterford. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
Those who wish may make a memorial donation in memory of Jeff to The Clifton Park Halfmoon Emergency Corp, Attn: Community Development, 15 Crossing Blvd., Clifton Park, NY, 12065, or the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY, 12020.

One never forgets childhood friends. Jeff and I were buddies in grade school, PS 16 in Troy. He lived a block from me. When we entered high school, we saw each other infrequently, but have good memories.

Julie and family, I'm so sorry at Jeff's passing. He was a sweet guy and a regular fixture on Monmouth Way. I loved seeing him out with Bode, just the two of them strolling along. He fought the good fight for a long time and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
