Jeffrey Senecal Obituary

Senecal, Jeffrey Lee Sr. DELANSON Jeffrey Lee Senecal Sr., of Delanson, a devoted husband and father, passed away at the age of 51, on Monday, January 24, 2022, after battling a terminal illness. Born in Cobleskill on July 18, 1970, Jeff was the son of Jeffrey D. and the late Caroline A. (Palmatier) Senecal. Jeff grew up in Schenectady and was a 1988 graduate of Linton High School. In June 1991, he met the love of his life, Charity J. Elmore, and they married on December 21, 1991. They raised their four children, Jeff, Sarah, Gloria, and John, in Schoharie and Delanson where they had a house full of love and adventure with many memories and stories to share. Jeff had four biological children, but he became a father figure to so many. He loved teaching young business owners how to be visionaries and to embrace the power of a dream. He had a passion for classic wooden boats, fast cars, BMW motorcycles, summer days floating in the pond, and discovering hidden diners. He believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and actively served in his church community. Jeff was predeceased by his mother, Caroline A. (Palmatier) Senecal of Schoharie; and his grandparents, Melvin E. Senecal of Schoharie and Ralph and Virginia (Graham) Palmatier of Corinth. Jeff is survived by his wife, Charity (Elmore) Senecal; children, Jeffrey L. (Alejandra) Senecal Jr. of Delanson, Sarah (James) Bushnell of Lynchburg, Va., Gloria Senecal of Delanson, and Johnathan Senecal of Delanson; his father, Jeffrey D. Senecal of Schoharie; his grandmother, Charlotte F. Senecal; his sister, Jennifer (Rob) Dawson of Greenville; as well as many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life held this summer. The Langan Funeral Home of Schoharie and the Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home of Cobleskill are assisting the Senecal family. Words honestly cant describe this man. He was literally larger than life and the dad I never had. Jeff was the first person who ever believed in me and taught me to believe in myself. Thank you Jeff and Senecal family because of you my life and family and legacy will be changed forever!! The true definition of generational wealth!

Jeff was like a dad to Matt and I. He was definitely our rich dad, and we couldn't be more thankful to you all as a family for sharing him with us. He spoke life, reason, and prosperity into every aspect of our life; from kids, marriage, finances, integrity, to business. He was full of life every time we spoke with him and saw him despite the struggles he was going through. When we met him Charity wasn´t with him, and we knew that he was missing his other half. The next time we saw him Charity was with him, and from that moment on we knew that no matter what we would have done anything to be around them. He always welcomed our kids into your home. He was also patient with us when we didn't understand something he was teaching us. He taught us the power of having a dream and re-lit the flame of our dream that we had lost. He believed in us when we didn´t believe in ourselves. He was more than a mentor to us. Our girls loved him and all of you. He taught them to `pray like deer´ and it always brings a smile to all of our faces and a tear to our eyes, because we know the greatness of the man behind that phrase. You guys brought joy and light into our family. You inspired us to strive for more expand our dream, and find joy in life no matter what struggles it brings, to stay true to who we are and pursue the vision God gave us for our life. He strengthened our faith in God with the way he lived out his faith in God despite any trial. In the few years we knew him, he taught us a lifetime of lessons and principles. No matter how short or how long the time we spent with him he had a way of making us desire to learn more from him. He told stories like no one else could, and always knew how to encourage us and make us smile. So until we see him again the memories he gave us is what we cling to. We may cry for the loss of him, but can only look back at all the memories and smile, and say all the times we had with him were great, because he was there! We loved your husband and father very much, and thank you for sharing him with us. You all always welcomed us into your home and family with open arms, and your impact as a family can´t be stopped or silenced. He spoke greatness into all of you and was the example of a Godly husband and father so much, so that we can only strive to be like him. The morning I read his obituary, the sunrise was absolutely stunning, and so in the memory of the light that shined in him, we share it with you all, and pray that it will bring joy to you the way he brought joy and light to our family. You are our chosen family, we love you and are praying for you.
