Jesse Leibowitz Obituary

Leibowitz, Jesse ALBANY Jesse Morris Leibowitz, age 28, of South Lake Avenue in Albany, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 12, 2010 at his residence. Born in Albany, Jesse was a graduate of Albany Academy and University of California, Santa Barbara. He was also a graduate gemologist. He resided in Albany for many years, later moving to Israel and had also resided in China. He returned to the Capital District area four months ago. He is survived by his father, Norman Leibowitz of Albany; his mother, Deborah Kirsch of Santa Monica, Calif.; his brother, Alex Leibowitz of NYC; his stepmother, Pamela Leibowitz and stepbrother, Sam Guarino of Albany. He also leaves aunts, uncles and cousins. Jesse was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Morris and Faye Leibowitz and his maternal grandparents, Irving and Estelle Kirsch. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany, on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the Ohav Shalom Cemetery on Church Road in Guilderland, N.Y. The period of mourning will be observed at the Leibowitz residence, 45 South Lake Avenue in Albany on Wednesday following the interment and on Thursday. Those wishing to remember Jesse in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy, 54 Sand Creek Road, Albany, NY 12205, the Albany Academy, 135 Academy Road, Albany, NY 12208 or a charity of your choice.
