Jo-Anne McFee Obituary
CAPITAL DISTRICT - Jo-Anne McFee peacefully passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease and Breast Cancer.
Known by so many as "Nanny" or "Josie," she was born to Frank and the late Doris Curcio, on July 27, 1948, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived the majority of her life in the Capital District. She is survived by her siblings, Suzie Kurtz, Leslie Fattorusso, Frank Curcio, Scott Curcio, and Craig Curcio. She was predeceased by her husband, Elnathan McFee.
Loving mother to Dawn Espinoza, Donna Phelan, William Phelan, Erin Phelan and Michael Phelan; her greatest pride was all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, David Drowne, Miranda Drowne, Annysa Phelan, Natalia Phelan, Alexander Phelan, Tristen Jordan, Ryan Phelan, Peyton Green, Samuel Phelan, Liam Phelan, Elaina Jones, and Aubrey Jones.
The family would like to express a special thank you to her daughter, Dawn, for being her long-term caregiver; and to the nurses and staff at Ghent Rehabilitation Center, for taking care of her in her final months.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, January 20, from 12:00-4:00 p.m., at the M. Grimaldi Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Ave., Chatham, N.Y. 12037. A brief prayer service will be offered at 2:45 p.m.
