Joan Hastings Obituary
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Joan E. Hastings, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. She was born in Middleborough, Mass., on September 9, 1945, to Robert and Bertha Edison.
Joan was a Registered Nurse at Bellevue Hospital, in Schenectady, for over 40 years, retiring in 2014. Joan and her sisters had a family business E.J.'s S. Dolls, and together they made porcelain dolls, selling them at local craft fairs.
Joan is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Hastings, Jr.; her children, Robert Hastings, III (Nancy), Brenda Hastings, and Jodi LaVoie (Donald); grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Zachary, Alexander, and Maximus; great-granddaughter Soleil; sisters, Edna DelNegro (Victor) and Sue Castle (Lewis); and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, January 27, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A service will follow at 4 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in memory of Joan may be made to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, N.Y. 12020.

Joan was my nurse manager when I worked in surgical services. She was so welcoming, fair and tough when she needed to be. She was a loving woman who was loved by all and will never be forgotten. My sympathy and prayers for her family.
