Maney, Joan Marie SARATOGA Joan Marie Maney, 86 ,of Locust Grove Rd. and former long time resident of Lansingburgh died on Monday, November 9, 2015 at her daughters residence. She was born in Waterford on June 14, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Edna Hilare Brierley. She was a graduate of Waterford High School and was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Maney, who she married on September 9, 1951. She is the devoted mother of Kathleen (the late Stephen) Planeta of Westwood, Mass., Diane Maney of Troy, Linda Maney, Michael Maney, both of Saratoga Springs, and the late Eileen R. "Beany" Maney; sister of the late Ruth Michon; grandmother of CW Kelleher, Nick (Alyssa) Planeta and Kasey Planeta; also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was blessed with wonderful friends and neighbors and will be missed by all those who loved and knew her. A special thank you to Saratoga Hospice, especially Mary, Ann, Joyce and Meg. Your support and care will never be forgotten. Funeral will be held Friday, November 13, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. No words can or will comfort you or your loved ones today! The loss of one's Mother no matter how old we are is a profound loss. The kind of loss which takes a part of who you are at your heart and soul and somehow leaves a hollow place there that shall never be filled. A Mother's love is unique and special no matter our age or stage in life. She has run the race, she has walked the way and for such as she there is a special place at the Eternal Banquet table.
