Joan A. McConkey

McConkey, Joan A. TROY Joan Condon McConkey, 78, former 7th Avenue, Lansingburgh resident, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in Community Hospice at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William Condon and Marie Dillon Condon and wife of the late Paul J. McConkey who died June 6, 2004. A lifelong resident of Troy, Joan resided at the Hawthorne Ridge Alzheimer Facility in East Greenbush for the past few years. She attended Catholic Central High School and later worked for the Watervliet Arsenal. She was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church. Survivors include a daughter, Anne McConkey Mitchell (Thomas) of Saratoga Springs; two sons, Robert W. McConkey of Troy and Paul J. McConkey Jr. (Kellie) of Waterford; six grandchildren, Carrie Deiter, Jennifer Mitchell-Newall and Ryan Mitchell, all of Calif., Heather McConkey of Schaghticoke, Meaghan and Andrew Mc-Conkey, both of Waterford; three great-grandchildren, Emma Rose Deiter, Cate Deiter and Jack Newall. Funeral services Saturday 9:00 a.m. from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church, 115th Street and 4th Avenue, Lansing-burgh where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
