MECHANICVILLE - Joann M. Boucher, 92, of Hemstreet Park, died peacefully at home on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Mechanicville on November 5, 1933, daughter of the late John and Josephine (Powers) Murphy, she was a 1951 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Joanie worked for General Electric in Schenectady, later served as a Mechanicville School District "lunch lady," and then as a library clerk at the Mechanicville Public Library for many years. She was a founding member of the Mechanicville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Strong in her Catholic faith, Joanie recited the rosary every morning and was a lifelong member of All Saints on the Hudson Parish.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Emerson "Emmy" Boucher (2011); her son, Richard Boucher; granddaughter, Aleta Ponzillo; great-granddaughter, Reese Boucher; and siblings, Helen Leonard, and Jack, Thomas, and Joseph "Skip" Murphy.
Survivors include her children, Mark (Jackie) Boucher, Barbara (Anthony) Ponzillo, and Thomas (Mary) Boucher; daughter-in-law, Margie (the late Richard) Boucher; grandchildren, Bryan (Becca), Jonathan (Marisah), Jason (Melissa), Megan (Rick), Ashley, Desiree (Chris), Katie (Javy), Kayla (Rick), Melissa (Bill), Amanda (Mike), Brian, Patrick, Amy(Andy); many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 16, from 3 to 6 p.m., at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 N. Main St., Mechanicville, N.Y. 12118. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 17, at 10:30 a.m., at the church, with burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Hemstreet Park Fire Department, 137 S. Linden St., Mechanicville, N.Y. 12118.
