John Albin Obituary

FREEHOLD John E. Albin Sr., 77 years, of Freehold, N.Y. passed away at the Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Valatie on Sunday, May 28, 2006. He was born in New York City on June 14, 1928, son of the late George and Ella Mae (Cassidy) Albin. He was a retired carpet installer having last worked for Broadway Carpet in Schenectady, N.Y. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict being discharged as a corporal. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and a former member of the Freehold Vol. Fire Co. He will be remembered as an avid reader and enjoyed his large family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Joan (Bigley) Albin; a son, Robert Albin; a daughter, Karen Yacobucci; two sisters, Gertrude VonBerg and Helen Loughran and four brothers, Arthur, George, Fred and William Albin. Surviving are his children, John Albin Jr. (Elizabeth), Michele Weidman (Victor), Jayme Albin (Ann), Ellen Stevens (Orin), Michael Albin (Susan) and Raymond Albin (Stephanie); 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Albin; two sisters, Agnes Cafferelli, Midge Komerak and several nieces and nephews. Also a special son Joe Savino Jr. and a special friend, Frank Potter and his family. As to his request, cremation will be at the Albany Rural Cemetery. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery. Those who desire may contribute in his memory to the Greenville Rescue Squad or to the American Red Cross. Arrangements by the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, N.Y.
