Epting, John E. Jr. COLONIE John E. Epting, Jr., a longtime resident of Colonie and Charlton, N.Y. and currently of Carolina Shores, N.C., passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y.. Born on February 2, 1949, he was the son of John E. and Veronica (Babrowicz) Epting. John was a graduate of South Colonie High School. He was employed as an engineer in accident investigations for the NYS Department of Transportation. Retiring to Carolina Shores, N.C., he served on the board of directors for the POA at the Village of Calabash, N.C. He was a longtime member of the Midway Fire Department and was a lifetime member of the Elks. In earlier years, he was a wedding photographer and a defensive driving instructor. John enjoyed the company of his faithful companions, Abby and Luna. He leaves his wife Diane (Sharp) Epting of Carolina Shores, NC; a daughter, Michelle (Jerry Morgan, Jr.) Collins of Springfield, Tenn.; and two sons, Paul (Rosita Green) Epting and Michael (Erin) Epting all of Colonie; grandchildren, Carter and Gianna Epting. Calling hours will be held Monday, July 26, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie.
