John Megna Obituary

LATHAM John C. Megna Sr., 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John and Pauline Megna. John graduated from the Vincentian Institute in 1955. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959. John was a private business owner most of his life. He recently went to work, during his retirement years, for Hack's Furniture in Albany. John was a fun loving man who will be dearly missed. John is survived by former wife and dear friend Mary Murphy of Albany; his son, John C. Megna Jr. of Schenectady; his three daughters, Elizabeth Fuller and her husband William of Clifton Park, Paula Cassala and her husband Vincent of Slingerlands and Ellen Harker and her husband Michael of Colonie. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Vendetti of Delmar; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 8:45 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.), then to St. Vincent DePaul Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 18, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
