John Womer Obituary

Womer, John D. "Jack" CHARLTON John D. Womer "Jack," 61, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Albany on December 4, 1954. Jack was the president of Adirondack Cabling and Security, which he co-owned with his brother Bob. He was a member of the Galway Lions Club where he served as treasurer. Jack was an avid gardener. He liked to travel and enjoyed being in the outdoors. Jack brewed his own beer and hard cider for his family and friends. His quick witted humor and positive outlook on life will never fade from our memories. He was predeceased by his parents, John "Bill" and Dorothy (Irish) Womer. Jack is survived by his wife Cathy (Dolan) Womer; his sons, David Womer and his wife Dana of Amsterdam, and Jeremy Womer and his wife Raquel Rozdolski of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren, Mason and Jackson Womer; siblings Bill Womer (Linda) of Latham, Nancy Turner (Bill) of Glens Falls and Bob Womer (Kathy) of Broadalbin; his beloved dog Bailey and grandpuppy Winston; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High St., Ballston Spa. A celebration of Jack's life will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 1 p.m. at Jack's home, 1094 Westline Rd., Amsterdam. Memorial contributions in memory of Jack may be made to Galway Lions Club, PO Box 244, Galway, NY 12074. Online remembrances may be made at armerfuneralhome.com

My condolences to the Womer family. I knew Jack from childhood then through work and of course so many fond memories of his Mom and Dad and the entire Womer family from Locust Park Road. They were just wonderful people. A great family. Jack will be missed.

Growing up in Albany I have fond memories of camping in the Adirondacks and sharing beers with Jack and friends at the Chug a Mug. I will miss Jack's warm smile and gentle demeanor.
