Joseph Gates Obituary

ALBANY Joseph W. Gates, 58, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Arthur and Viola Lewis Gates. Joe retired as a maintenance supervisor after 27 years with the Albany Housing Authority. He was the husband of Anne Harrison Gates; father of William Gates, Sharon Dockal and Karen Gates; grandfather of Heather, Amber, Lauren, Sevare and Joseph. Funeral services Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Those wishing to remember Joe and his family in a special way, may send contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Spuare, Albany, NY 12205.
