Joseph L. Napples Jr.

Napples, Joseph L. Jr. TROY Joseph L. Napples Jr., 97 of Pleasantdale, passed peacefully on May 17, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Miron Napples; and the devoted husband of Marilyn Walsh Napples, the love of his life, who passed in 2006. Mr. Napples was a graduate of Troy High School and was retired from the SUNY Albany. As a young man Joe worked as a shirt cutter and was the former president of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. Joe was a proud veteran of World War II serving with the 49th Armored Infantry Battalion from 1943 to 1946. He campaigned through Central Europe and received the American Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for the Pleasantdale Fire Company for many years. Survivors include his children, Linda Treffiletti, Joyce Bruce (John) and Kathleen Napples; grandchildren, Frank Treffiletti, Angela Treffiletti and Phelisha Napples; great-grandchildren, Angelena Centofanti and Nicholas Treffiletti; brother Donald Napples; and sister-in-law Patricia Warriner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas and Francis Napples. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
