Joshua Miller Obituary

Miller, Joshua S. TROY Joshua S. Miller, 34, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2021, at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, he was the son of Scott Miller and Ann (Beba) Miller. Joshua worked for SUNY Schenectady as a teaching assistant in the culinary department; he also owned a construction company. Joshua is survived by his mother, Ann Miller (Duane Martin) of Waterford; his father, Scott Miller (Wendy) of Brunswick; his brother, Ryan Miller (Krystal) of Brunswick; his stepsister, Heather Kayser (Nick) of Clifton Park; his aunts, Katherine Sherwood (Serge Lassonde), Karen Fiorino (Robert), Antonia LaRose (Leonard), and Mary Partek (Paul); and his grandparents, Samuel and Carol Miller. He is also survived by several cousins and friends. Joshua was predeceased by his grandparents, Anthony and Anna Mae LaRose; his aunt Kimberly Seifridsberger; and his uncle James LaRose. Joshua was an amazing person with a huge heart. There were no lengths he wouldn't go for the people he cared about. He had a way about him that would put a smile on anyone's face regardless of the day they were having. He loved traveling, going to concerts, great food, and spending time with family and friends. He was extremely hard working, a devoted student active in the SUNY Delhi LEAP Program, and a dedicated member of the NA community. He was looking forward to receiving his bachelor's degree in business administration this coming May. He will be sorely missed by all the lives he touched and will never be forgotten. Family and friends are invited and may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Please visit wynantskillfh.com

Josh gave me hope when I had none. He helped me stick with recovery at a time when I was utterly lost and afraid. Josh showed up for me, and he showed up for so many others in big and small ways. And we laughed. We laughed at ourselves, our mistakes, the lessons we learned. What a gift it was, feeling safe and accepted by another. What a tragedy to lose you so soon. I know there is a God, and all your pain has been washed away, and that you are finally free. I pray for all those you left behind, for mercy and comfort as we continue to carve a path forward in such a way that honors all we loved about you.
