Very very sorry for Judy's passing. We shared a friend Erick James and Judy was simply an amazing human being with a massive heart to go along with her laugh and smile.

So sorry to hear about Judy's passing. I didn't even know she was ill. So long to a lovely Russell Sage 'sister'.

To say I was shocked when I read this obituary is an understatement. Judy Barnes was a big influence on my life. She was by far my most favorite professor in freshman English at Russell Sage. She had a unique way of exciting students about what could sometimes be dull content. Her enthusiasm about revitalizing downtown Troy made me as a lifelong Trojan proud of our great city and excited about what the future held for Troy. For years we were neighbors and I watched what great work she did restoring some of the homes on Washington Park and Second Street. I also had an opportunity to engage her services as a private consultant helping my then place of employment learn conflict resolution. It has been several years since we last spoke but the things I learned from Judy will be with me always I will truly miss her.

Such a bright light in the life of my dad, Art Rosen. So very sad to know she's gone. Her smile and her laugh will never leave my mind!

Our deepest deepest sympathy. Judy was a wonderful person, filled with so much love and shared that love with everyone she met. We met her when she came in with the "breakfast club" and always looked forward to seeing her(them) on Fridays. We knew Judy was there because of that laugh and always came out of the kitchen to say hello. Again, we are so sorry for your loss.
