Don,and family,
I so enjoyed working with Karen at Catholic Charities in the 80's, we had fun growing up and learning "new things" as coworkers. You brought us a "starlett" when you introduced Karen to us and as I remember seeing her about 6 years ago when she came to visit us at Charities I was reminded of that time. How nice and kind she was to others, always present and willing to help when needed. She was a very happy person and her love for her family and her strive to reach higher education and be good at her job was a primary focus for her. She left with a smile on her face that day, a day we went down "memory lane" and that is the day I will always remember the Karen I know and grew to love. My prayers and heartfelt sympathies to you, NoahJon, Nicholas and Amanda, as well as her extended family members. She is now at "peace" smiling down on us with her heavenly angel wings resting proudly on her shoulders.
Love,
Eloise J. Leflore

She was an amazing lady. I even remember when I was overcoming some serious trouble, she came to my house during her break to talk to me. It's unreal that she's gone. She will be missed.

I'm so deeply sorry! My heart, thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Marshall's family during this very sad time.
I was a student at the BH-BL High School years ago and Mrs Marshall not only helped me through many things but she inspired me in so many ways! Mrs Marshall was so much more then just a school social worker, she was my friend and an amazing person that I looked up to. She will always have a special place in my heart.

A special person is someone who inspires you to do better. Everyone should be so lucky to have someone like that in their lives. Someone we work toward emulating. For me, Karen was that person, both professionally and personally. In many ways I failed, but I still never lost sight of who I wanted to be, because of her influence. That got me through. Thank you, Karen.

I was so sad to hear of Karen's passing. In high school, Karen was loved and admired by all. I can still hear her infamous laugh. We shared many good times together. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Mr. Marshall, Noahjon, Amanda & Nick,
Mrs. Marshall was truly an amazing wife and mother to the four of you and such a blessing in my life as well. She was such a powerful individual for fighting such a horrendous illness for so long!
One of my favorite lyrics states "everyday should be a good day to die" and I think this passing demonstrates that. Mrs. Marshall, although taken way to early, lived such a FULL life! Her presence and her amazing heart affected countless people in a positive manner.
I plan on running the NYC Marathon on November 6th in both her and my mother's honor. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during these trying times.
It's people like Mrs. Marshall that have made me a better person and I know she has brought that upon many others as well.

Don, I know this has been a truely heroic struggle for both you and for Karen. You were so pleased when she was able to resume her life's work as a social worker a year or so ago. My best wishes. Will not be able to attend the memorial but will connect with you in the near future. Best Regards, Don Smith

Don,
As you know well, words at such a time as this are woefully inadequate. You probably know there was a regional directors meeting this past Monday, and the effect of the news of Karen's passing was evident on everyone's face. As you are in mine, know you are in the thoughts and prayers of your many, many colleagues around the state.
On behalf of the entire LaSalle School family, and the Christian Brothers who you came to know so well so many years ago, I entend my deepest sympathies to you and your family.
