Gray, Katherine Ann Lowther
KENSINGTON, Md. - Katherine Ann "K-Ann" Lowther Gray, 83, passed away at her residence in Kensington, Md., on October 20, 2022.
She is survived by her children, Susan Townsend-Gray (Christopher Townsend) and Mark Gray (Laura Pope); grandchildren, Dwight Townsend-Gray, Kaitlyn Townsend-Gray Chambers (Cody Chambers), and Heather Townsend-Gray; great-granddaughter, Coraline Chambers; siblings, Robert Lowther (Sharon), Carol Lowther Reader (Floyd), and William Lowther (Melodie); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, The Rev. Dr. Bruce Gray and her parents, Dwight Renan Lowther and Alma Clark Lowther.
Born in Troy, and a graduate of Bates College and The College of Saint Rose, K-Ann's career included teaching school in Schenectady and Syracuse and working as a social services case manager in Albany, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. She sang in the church choir and loved gardening, animals (especially moose), and traveling to new places.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, December 10, at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 10 N. Main St., Albany, NY 12203, followed by interment at 1 p.m. in the Oakwood Cemetery, 186 Oakwood Ave., Troy. A reception will immediately follow the interment at the Rustic Barn Pub, 150 Speigletown Rd., Troy.
Memorial gifts may be made to Episcopal Relief and Development.
