Kevin Brennan Obituary

CATSKILL Mr. Kevin F. Brennan Sr., age 82, of Catskill, and formerly of Mohegan Lake, N.Y., died Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, N.Y. He was born April 20, 1923 in Manhattan, New York City, N.Y., the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Walsh) Brennan. Mr. Brennan served in the United States Army during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a teacher and coach at Briarcliff High School in Briarcliff Manor before his retirement in 1979. He was predeceased by his wife, Therese (Platt) Brennan on July 4, 2004. Mr. Brennan is survived by two sons, U.S. Army Lt. Col. Kevin Brennan Jr. of Va. and Edward Brennan of Albany; two daughters, Cecilia Chlystun of Red Hook and Therese Rowcroft of Catskill; a brother, James Brennan of Bronx, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, U.S. Army Capt. Brian Brennan, Kate Brennan, Nicholas Chlystun, Jeffrey Chlystun, Patrick Brennan, Kelsey Brennan, and Karrie Brennan; one great-grandson, Liam Brennan; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Fort Myer Chapel, Arlington, Va. with burial following at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Living Resources-Carriage House Art Center, 30 Pine West Plaza, Washington Avenue Ext., Albany, NY 12205. Funeral services are under the direction of Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, Catskill.
