Bonk, Laurence J.
SCHENECTADY - Laurence J. Bonk entered into eternal life, on September 27, 2025, after a long illness. Husband of the former Carol A. Bonk; and father of Laurence T. Bonk (Kim) and Barbara Bonk Pettinato (Chuck). He was born in Schenectady, N.Y., and was the son of Joseph Bonk and Ida Schmuckmeier Bonk. He lived most of his life in Rotterdam, N.Y. Larry was the youngest of seven brothers and sisters who predeceased him; Peg, Ida, Brud, Viola, Casper, and Bob; and had several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service from 11 to 11:30 a.m., at Bond Funeral Home on Guilderland Avenue in Schenectady, Wednesday, October 8. A burial service will take place at 1 p.m., at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice House, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, N.Y. 12078, or at mvcares.org
