Lawrence Pemberton

Pemberton, Lawrence MALTA Lawrence "Larry" Pemberton, 81, of Malta, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Watervliet, October 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Peter and Ellen Pemberton. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Larry spent many years as a member of Carpenters Local #370 and retired from New York State Office of General Services as an engineer in charge. Larry was a member of Franklin Lodge #90 F&AM, serving as past District Deputy. He was also an Oriental Shriner. He was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as past Associate Grand Sentinel and past District Grand Lecturer. Larry loved life, especially his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Janet Mason Pemberton; son, Mark of Wilton; step-daughters, Sandra Lamperetta of Ballston Spa and Carol Lamica of Martinsburg, W.V.; mother-in- law, Gladys Mason of Ballston Spa; brothers, Peter Pemberton of Utica and George "Jud" Pemberton of N.C.; sister, Doris Leary of Saratoga Springs and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial with full military honors, will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Town of Saratoga.
