Lawrence Ryan Obituary

Ryan, Lawrence W.
BRUNSWICK - Lawrence W. Ryan, 87, died Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital, after a long illness.
Born and raised in Troy, he was the son of the late Colonel James T. Ryan Jr. and Ellen Disney Ryan. A resident of Brunswick, Larry graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1955 and went on to earn a degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1966. Larry built a distinguished career in construction, serving as Vice President of Operations at Perini Construction in Framingham, Massachusetts, where he worked for 37 years until his retirement.
Outside of work, Larry was an avid fan of Notre Dame and New England Patriots football, and
he rarely missed a New York Times crossword puzzle. He loved fishing the waters of Tampa Bay from his boat and annual vacations on Cape Cod with his children and grandchildren. Known for his sharp wit and sense of humor, Larry brought laughter and light to those around him.
Survivors include his six children, Michael (Liz) Ryan, Timothy Ryan, Jean Ryan, Thomas Ryan, Sheila (Michael) Duncan and Kerin (Michael) Ryan-Hart; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Sue Ann Heidelmark Ryan. He was predeceased by two brothers, James T. Ryan, III and Francis X. Ryan.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Ave., Troy, Monday, October 20, 2025, 4 to 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 21, 2025, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Ave., Troy. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
