Linda Sharp Obituary

Sharp, Linda Farrell NORTH GREENBUSH Linda Farrell Sharp, 75, of Drake Way, died Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center, after a long illness. Born in Portland, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Paul Farrell and Marion Mahoney Farrell; and wife for 50 years of Howard Gates Sharp. She had resided in Bellville and Washington Township, N.J., until the mid-90's when she moved to Wynantskill and was a 1960 graduate of Troy High School. Mrs. Sharp was a secretary for the dean of continuing education at Hudson Valley Community College for several years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and walking and was a EMT lieutenant in Washington Township, and a member of the YWCA in East Greenbush. Survivors in addition to her husband, include two sons, Kevin Sharp, Wynantskill and Brian (Brooke) Sharp, Florida; a stepson, Howard Sharp Jr., Averill Park; a stepdaughter, Diane Bowen, Newburyport, Mass.; and three grandchildren, Brian and Brendon Sharp and Evan Bowen. Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 4392 NY-150, West Sand Lake, on Saturday, December 2, from 9-11 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m., with Reverend Michael Gorchov, Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Linda Sharp to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205. Linda was a warm caring person with a strong work ethic. She made my day easier and brighter each day that she worked with me at Hudson Valley Community College . She loved her family and often spoke highly of her sons and husband. She had a heart of gold! My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time .

I am so sorry to hear about Linda. We graduated Troy High School together in 1960 and were good friends through our high school years. She lived on Bolivar Avenue and I lived on Ahern Avenue which was off of Bolivar. My deepest condolences go out to all of her family. May she Rest in Peace!
